The programme is suited for candidates interested in the area of database and systems development. This programme imparts knowledge of the technology and methods relevant for creating and maintaining computing systems that support business data handling requirements of organizations. It deals with the creation of effective information technology systems as solutions to business problems, as well as the management of such systems. It is designed for students who posses qualifications in Computer Science and related subjects and will enable graduates to embark on a professional career in software engineering and IT management.

Each unit taken on this course is assessed by coursework and examination.

All examinations are proctored at designated exam centres in April, August and December.

Upon successful completion of the programme, students will obtain an Ordinary Degree of Bachelor of Science in Computing awarded by University of Portsmouth.

Module Descriptors

IS352 Advanced Systems Development

This unit introduces students to the advanced treatment of the concepts and techniques in systems development within an ecommerce environment.

IT354 Database Design and Management

This unit is designed to provide an overview on the database models, implementations of models, relational databases, database performance measurement and tuning, expert and object oriented database, database management.

IT359 Human Computer Interaction Design

Human Computer Interaction is a multi-disciplinary unit concerned with the design, implementation and evaluation of the interface between human users and computer systems, and the major phenomena which influence these elements.

Class Schedule

Students are highly advised to register for the class at least four (4) weeks before the intake.
IGC reserves the right to make changes on the  schedule in the event that classes/modules do not meet the required number of students.
